1. What is screen printing or silk screening?
Well, basically it is putting a colored ink onto a garment to make the garment look cool, but if you would like a more technical definition we think that Wikipedia does a way better job of explaining than we can do in this little space, so please check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_printing
2. Is there a minimum quantity to order?
12 pieces is our "minimum" quantity, but if you had a special job that required less garments we can do it ... knowing that it will cost a good amount more per garment than if you ordered our "minimum." We can do any size order, up the tens-of-thousands, and the more apparel you order at one time the cheaper the price gets ... get it? If you need to do fewer than 12 pieces, just click on the "Contact Us" link and get in touch with us for a custom quote.
3. How long does it take to complete an order?
A standard order with Coed Monkey takes 1½ - 2 weeks from the time that we receive all of your order information. For embroidery the turnaround time is between 2-3 weeks. Rush orders are available upon request.
4. What about the "Screen Charges" and "Set-up Charges/Film Separations"?
When you work with Coed Monkey there are No Setup Charges, No Screen Charges and Free Shipping directly to you! So don't worry about paying any hidden fees with Coed Monkey!
5. Do I need my own artwork?
No. Coed Monkey has a dedicated art team (not consisting of chimpanzees parading around the office) that can assist you in creating the perfect artwork for your order. Coed Monkey can do minor artwork for you, but if more than 15 minutes is required you will be notified prior to beginning the art and you will be quoted on how long it will take to complete and how much it will cost.
6. What formats to you accept for artwork?
For artwork, we will need the highest quality images that you can provide. We prefer either Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop files. These file extensions would be *AI or *PSD. We can accept EPS, PDF, TIFF, JPG, GIF or BMP files. For multi-colored images we might not be able to use TIFF, JPG, GIF or BMP files. For best print quality, please provide vector based artwork or images with 200 dpi or higher. If your artwork does not work, you can use our art department to recreate the artwork for you. (Refer to question 5).
7. Do you match PMS/Pantone colors?
Yes, we can match PMS/Pantone colors. You will just need to notify us that you would like specific Pantone colors or else we will use stock ink colors.
8. Can you make my shirt look old with the ink cracked?
Definitely. You can always make your artwork look vintage by adding cracks to it yourself, but if you don't know how to do this, we can also do this to any artwork that you provide. Just let us know that you want it to look distressed and we can do it for you.
9. How much will I pay for shipping?
FREE. Whenever you work with Coed Monkey there is always free shipping to anywhere in the Continental United States.
10. When I order American Apparel t-shirts why do I get a better pricing if I order at least 12 pieces per size?
When you order American Apparel t-shirts you will get the best price by ordering at least 12 pieces per size. We have to order from American Apparel directly and they give us a better price if we order this way, so we want to pass the savings to you. For instance, if you order 13 pieces you will obtain the better price, but if you order 11 pieces you will pay "single piece" pricing, which is about $2.00 more/t-shirt. It works to your favor to order at least 12 pieces per size ordered, otherwise you pay a little more per t-shirt.

11. When/How do I pay?
Once Coed Monkey receives your order you will be required to let us know how you intend to pay.
There are three ways to pay:
  1. You can pay online with a credit card. We will send you a payment link where you can enter your credit card information and we will charge your card at the completion of the order.
  2. You can pay with a check/PO from your university accounting department. You will need to provide us with the university PO number at the time that we accept the order.
  3. You can pay with a personal check. To pay with a personal check, we will need to get your credit card information as a holding account. At the completion of the order we will send you an invoice and you can send us a check in the mail.
12. Does Coed Monkey do Embroidery in addition to screen printing?
Yes, any product that we offer on our website can be embroidered.
13. What is a "Digitizing Fee" for embroidery?
Ok, this can be kinda tricky to explain, so follow us on this ... For us to embroider your artwork we need our embroidery machine to know how to embroidery your image. To do this, we need to make a computer program to tell the embroidery machine where to embroider the threads in relation to each other. We need to have a person called a "Digitizer" delicately make this program and then we can embroider your artwork. So, the digitizing fee is a one-time fee that pays for the Digitizer to make the computer program that will sew your image.
14. How do I know that my apparel will come out looking like I want?
Probably the worst thing that can happen is for you to spend a lot of time creating the coolest possible logo only to get your t-shirts and find out that the logo wasn't printed like you wanted it. To assure that this does not happen, when you work with Coed Monkey we will email you an Official Coed Monkey Art Proof to show you a visual representation of what your apparel will look like once your order is completed. Once we receive your artwork we will have our very talented art team create your custom "Official Coed Monkey Art Proof" where you will see the approximate dimensions of the artwork, the colors being used, placement etc. You simply will email us back ether an "ok" or let us know of any changes that you'd like to see made to the artwork. This is so we can assure your apparel makes heads turn.
15. Can you "mix-and-match" t-shirt/sweatshirts/other apparel into one order?
Yes. If we can screen print or embroider the same design on a different garment we can "mix-and-match" the order. If you would like to "mix-and-match," please note this in your custom quote request and we will get back to you asap with the quote on the "mix-and-match" order.
16. Can you "mix-and-match" colors of garments in one order?
Yes, but don't worry about this in your quote request because we can take care of this when you actually place the order.
17. Do you offer products that are not offered on your website?
Yes. We've done our best to feature the products that we think you'll like most, but with so many different products out there, we are sure to have left a few off our list. If you would like a product that is not on this website, please email us directly via our "Contact Us" page and we will work on getting you the apparel of your dreams. Also, you can check out these awesome websites:
Note - the prices on the American Apparel and Alternative Apparel websites are retail, not the price you will pay. Just let us know what you like and we can get a quote on the product for you.
18. Does Coed Monkey give a discount if their logo is placed on the apparel?
Yes, but it all depends on how many garments are ordered and where our logos placed. If you want us to sponsor you just let us know ... we'd be excited for the privilege ... plus you can choose from a plethora of Coed Monkey Logo art to put on your garment to reduce the price for you.
