Join the Celebration! (ACR Homes ~ A T-Shirt Case Study)

The Twin Cities are home to a lot of businesses that are leaving a positive mark on the world, but at top of the list is ACR Homes. Not only have they created an amazing work environment for their 1000+ team members, but they are actively helping those in need on a daily basis through their home services, helping people with disabilities.

Recognizing that each human life is valuable, Jim and Dorothy Nelson founded ACR Homes to provide physical and emotional support to people with disabilities. ACR stands for “Acceptance”, “Communication”, and “Respect”. Opening its first home in 1981, ACR now has over 50 homes spread out within a 5-county radius that care for over 200 residents.

The Situation:  Being voted one of the top 5 places to work in the Twin Cities 4 years in a row, ACR Homes does an annual Employee Appreciation day and needed our help with bringing their t-shirt design idea to life. This t-shirt would be handed out to all of their employees as a “thank you” for all they do to make ACR Homes successful.

The vision ACR Homes had for their design included a tree and complete list of their 50+ homes. The first houses ACR Homes established would be listed at the bottom of the tree, and would continue listing houses as the tree branched out - symbolizing where the company started, and how it has branched out to be an even bigger community, but still all connected to the base/roots of the tree: that each human life is valuable.

The Supplies:  ACR Homes had specific branding guidelines they had to stay within, so they provided us with the fonts we could use as well as with their ACR Homes logo. From there, we went from concept to creating the design.

Within two weeks of approving the design, ACR received their apparel and loved everything!

There was just one more thing... Although ACR loved the custom t-shirts, and wanted their employees' children to be able to have some apparel as well.  While some kids fit into the unisex adult apparel sizing, ACR thought it would be nice to order some shirts that were specifically tailored to youth sizes.

After talking with our Customer Care Team about different youth apparel styles, ACR went with the youth companion style(Next Level 60/40 Youth t-shirt) to the unisex shirt they had chosen: the Next Level 60/40 T-Shirt. This shirt features a soft 60% cotton and 40% polyester blend, helping the shirt last longer over time and feel softer.

ACR also decided to get some super-cute onesies to hand out to new parents that are a part of the ACR community.

From there, ACR’s designer supplied new kid-friendly artwork and we got started on production!

The kids t-shirts were a hit and the pictures speak for themselves.
